The Atlantic Wall is perhaps the most famous of Germany’s World
War II fortifications in Europe, but Hitler built many others,
from elaborate coastal defences along the English Channel to the
nearly impervious lines protecting the German homeland - the
massive West Wall and the hurriedly built East Wall. Fortress
Third Reich is the first comprehensive treatment of Germany’s
World War II fortifications and defensive systems, such as the
Reich’s highly feared air defense.

Devised by Tony
Holmes in 1994, Aircraft of the Aces is indisputably the most
successful aviation series in Osprey's 30-year history. The globally
acclaimed artwork of Iain Wyllie has appeared on the cover of each
book, and these specially commissioned paintings have become a key
ingredient to the series' success. In celebration of the aces of
WWII, their aircraft, and the unique illustrations which have so
unerringly captured them in action, Osprey has produced this
hardcover volume featuring thirty full-colour paintings from the
series. It includes information on the actual aircraft depicted,
their pilots, and the action in which they are involved.

This book depicts the military history of Southern Rhodesia from
the first resistance to colonial rule, through the period of UDI
(unilateral declaration of independence) by the Smith government
to the Lancaster House agreement that transferred power. There are
vivid accounts of the operations against the 'guerillas' by the
security forces and the intensity of the fighting will surprise
readers. The book also provides expert analysis of the historical
situation and examines events up to the present day, including
Mugabe's operations against rival tribes and white farmers.
Following the conquest of his native Latvia by the Nazis, the
author was given the stark choice: service in the SS or forced
labour in a slave camp. Sent to Russia, he nearly perished during
the terrible winter of 1943-44 being wounded and finding himself
with his friend lying dead on top of him. As the tide turned the
Russians advanced remorselessly and Blosfelds was wounded twice
more and awarded the Iron Cross for bravery. Capture by the
Russians meant almost certain death so he surrendered to the
Americans. Unable to return to Latvia he eventually settled in the
UK.
