In 1920 Major Francisco Franco Bahamonde was appointed
second-in-command of the newly established 'Legion de Extranjeros'
(the Spanish Foreign Legion). In the Legion's garrison town of
Ceuta he began to compile a record of the battalion which he was
to command in Spain's Moroccan Protectorate. This record covers
the two-year period from October 1920 to May 1922 and this volume
is a critical analysis and translation of Bahamonde's account. It
also includes interesting biographical and topographical notes.
