HAILE SELASSIE'S WAR
by Anthony Mockler

Divided into three parts, the scene is set in Ethiopia, still feudal and in Italy, newly fascist. The second part, 'The War of the Negus', describes the Italian invasion and the battles in the North, ending with the invaders in control and Haile Selassie in exile. The final part describes how, following Italy's entry into the Second World War, British Somaliland was invaded and war spread over East Africa. As Mussolini's dreams crumbled into defeat the ex-Emperor, supported by troops from Wingate's Gideon Force, fought his way back into control of his Empire.
