COUNTER-STRIKE FROM THE SKY
by J R T Wood and Chris Cocks

The Rhodesian All-Arms Fireforce concept dates from 1974 when the Air Force acquired the MG151 20mm cannon. Coupled with this, the traditional counter-insurgency tactics (against Mugabe’s ZANLA and Nkomo’s ZIPRA) of follow-ups, tracking and ambushing simply weren’t producing satisfactory results. Visionary air force and Infantry officers expanded on the idea of a ‘vertical envelopment’ of the enemy by Alouette III helicopters, directing air deployed ground forces supported by ground-attack aircraft armed with napalm, white phosphorus rockets and a variety of Rhodesian-designed ordnance.

VIETNAM AND THE AMERICAN POLITICAL TRADITION
by (Editor) Randall B. Woods

A study of the Politics of Dissent. This volume demonstrates how opposition to the war in Vietnam, the military-industrial complex, and the national security state crystallized in a variety of different ways. During the course of the war many dissenters came to see the foreign policy which they were supporting, with its willingness to invoke democracy and at the same time tolerate dictatorships in the cause of anticommunism, as morally and politically corrupt. Most dissenters increasingly came to perceive a threat to the fundamental ideals of the US Constitution

THE IRAQI PERSPECTIVES REPORT
by Kevin M Woods et al

The fall of Baghdad in April 2003 opened one of the most secretive and brutal governments in history to outside scrutiny. For the first time analysts did not have to guess what had happened on the other side of a conflict but could actually read the defeated enemy's documents and interrogate its leading figures. This Pentagon study takes advantage of this opportunity to delve into Saddam's decision-making processes. The report shows just how dysfunctional and twisted the regime's internal workings had become. The culture of fear was so complete that Saddam's underlings routinely lied to him about almost everything, including the capabilities of his own military forces

CLEANSE THEIR SOULS
by Monty Wooley

Peace keeping in Bosnia's Civil War, 1992-1993. A young cavalry lieutenant's moving and shocking account of front line service in the cauldron of war. Fresh from Germany he and his men found themselves in a highly political and lethally dangerous civil war. They witnessed appalling atrocities and human tragedy on a giant scale. The foreword by Martin Bell, OBE, describes it as "earning its place among the impartial narratives of the Bosnian War"
